Yes it's another railway photo site! Here are some of my 3000+ slides and negatives taken whilst out chasing BR Locomotives around the country from the mid eighties to the mid nineties.
Photos are mainly 3/4 front views of locomotives on passenger trains at stations, with the emphasis being on freight locomotives working on passenger trains.
Pictures were mostly taken with a Ricoh KR10 SLR Camera, handheld using the standard 50mm lens.
Browse and re-live the days of bashing in the days when the railways in Britain had real locos to chase.
I have since added a few extra phots taken with an instamatic camera during the early eighties and then after my SLR burst during the mid nineties. The quality of these are not as good, but the best are worth publishing anyway. Enjoy! |

Unlike some railway photographers I am not adverse to seeing basher's heads out of train windows enjoying the fresh air and the thrash.

I should have spent more time in Scotland, especially in the early 80's with steam heating and type 2 locos everywhere. I got my SLR camera just in time to catch the end of steam heating there.
Some extra grainy phots now added, taken in the early 80s with an old 126 film camera. Most pictures taken were too poor to publish. Here are the ones that are worth seeing.

Before Norwich Crown Point Depot was opened in 1982, traction was maintained at the old steam depot on Carrow Road. Here are a few grainy photos that I took on an old camera just before it closed.
